Smith, the 26th overall pick in the 2014 draft, cleared waivers Thursday after being waived by the Eagles earlier this week.

Shortly after Smith's tweet, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Smith will sign with the Seahawks. A league source confirmed that the Seahawks are expected to sign Smith by Saturday.

Reece, 32, returns to the Seahawks after finishing previous year on the squad as the team's starting fullback for four games.

The move comes two days before the Seahawks' first practice of training camp.

Smith played 37 games without making a start in Philly and recorded 4.5 sacks.

To make room for Reece and Smith on the active roster, the Seahawks waived fullback Algernon Brown and linebacker Nick Usher. However, it's known that the Seahawks were intrigued by Smith as a pass rusher coming out of college so he's likely to get his first shot there, likely at the LEO position. Jordan remains on Seattle's roster, but he did very little over the offseason work because of a knee injury that needed surgery. But once they do practice they can not go back on the PUP list. The team waived him earlier this week. Essentially, going on the PUP list allows for more options regarding injured players.

If any team can salvage Smith, it's the Seahawks.
