A female police officer who saluted Maryam Nawaz on his arrival to the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) when she arrived to appear before Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has been served legal notice. She said that usually when corruption is investigated the charges are laid out beforehand and those being investigated and told of them - that wasn't the case with this JIT. Before her, slain ex Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was often called to court to answer for the assassination of her brother Murtaza Bhutto.
Following Hassan's appearance, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar also faced the JIT on Monday in connection with the probe, which has entered its final week.
She claimed the investigators, who are bound by the Supreme Court to wrap up their investigations by July 10, had no answer when she had asked them about the accusations against her family. He has repeatedly said that all transactions made by his family members were fair and in accordance with the country's laws. "We could have taken immunity and hidden, we could have absconded from the courts and gone to Nathia Gali, but we presented ourselves for accountability". Her name was appeared in the Panama Papers as the beneficial owner of the offshore companies, Neilsen Enterprises and Nescoll Ltd. Those who are hatching conspiracies should keep in mind that Nawaz Sharif has support of the people, she added.
In his statement, President Rahmon congratulated Pakistan on accession to the SCO and noted the strong ties between the two countries and said it coincides with 25 anniversary of their ties that have grown stronger over the years.
In a message to those hatching conspiracies, Maryam said, "Stop Nawaz Sharif otherwise he will end terrorism".
Rahmon and Sharif inked a Joint Declaration aimed at enhancing regional connectivity between the two countries and the region at large.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Emomali expressed satisfaction that Pakistan and Tajikistan were celebrating 25 years of their friendship. "The secrets he carries and the conspiracies against him - don't push him to the point where he must reveal those", she said.
Mayram is the eighth member of the Sharif family to be questioned by the JIT.
