THE Philippines expects a breeze when it faces Poland and Turkmenistan to wrap up its elimination-round campaign in the International Basketball Federation 3×3 Under-18 World Cup today in Chengdu, China.

Three years away from the inaugural 3-on-3 women's basketball tournament at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, members of the USA team in the U18 World Cup are determined to go after a gold medal in the tournament, which began this week.

Juan Gomez de Liano and AJ Edu, along with Rhayyan Amsali and Encho Serrano, bowed out in the quarterfinals of the FIBA 3x3 Under-18 World Cup.

Nevertheless, it was still the best showing for the young Filipinos in the history of the tournament. They were also the only Asian team to make it to the quarterfinals of the event.
