The e-Pedal is a new piece of technology which can allow drivers to control multiple functions via this single pedal.

Although one-pedal driving and regenerative braking are nothing new, the 2018 Leaf simplifies the system.

By flipping a nearby switch, the accelerator pedal will go into e-Pedal mode.

The e-Pedal is yet another move by Nissan to make driving easier and safer for everyone.

The brake pedal is still there just in case you need to stop abruptly but according to Nissan, drivers handle "90-percent of their driving needs with the e-Pedal".

The latest feature is called the e-Pedal, which is said to be a revolutionary technology that the manufacturer believes will transform the way we drive in the future. While a auto like the Bolt EV requires users to select from different levels of regeneration and hold paddles to operate the system, the Leaf's e-Pedal is activated through just the flip of a switch, allowing auto owners to simply choose between traditional driving and regenerative braking capable of bringing the vehicle to a complete stop.

Benefits of using the e-Pedal can be felt in city driving during heavy traffic as it eliminates the need to keep shifting the driver's foot from one pedal to another.

As well as the e-Pedal, the new LEAF will also be the first Nissan to feature ProPilot, an autonomous driving system that's more advanced than the semi-autonomous aids developed for cars like the Qashqai.
