According to the Swampscott Patch on-line news site, the dirt bike and auto crashed near the intersection of Jefferson and Newcombe avenues in Saugus at about 8:20 p.m.
Police said the 25-year-old driver of a dirt bike was killed after colliding with an SUV Saturday night in Saugus.
The man, who was not identified, was not licensed to drive the bike, which also was not registered, police said in a statement.
"He was unresponsive. He had no pulse".
The dirt bike's operator was transported to an area hospital and later pronounced dead. The driver was unhurt and the two children were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. His name is not being released at this time.
There were three occupants in the auto, including two children who were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
