If everything works in Jamal's favor, the Clippers will waive Crawford and give him the ability to sign with the Lakers to team up with soon-to-be-rookie Lonzo Ball.

The latest Los Angeles Lakers rumors are pointing to National Basketball Association free agent Jamal Crawford wanting to leave the L.A. Clippers but continue to call the Staples Center home.

According to ESPN, the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year victor Crawford has expressed an interest in playing for the Lakers.

They finished 41 games back of first-placed Golden State Warriors in the Pacific Division.

Meanwhile, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski‏ has reported that the Lakers are also discussing a potential one-year deal with George Hill.

Next season, Crawford is assured a salary of $14.2 million while he can get a guaranteed $3 million out of his $14.5 million contract for the 2018-19 season. He's a three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award victor, with the most recent coming in 2016. His career stats include 15.3 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game. In addition, Crawford led the league in 2011 for free-throw percentage. The Warriors max offer would be $5.2 million, while the Lakers may have up to $17.2 million in room. "Before joining the Jazz in a trade a year ago, Hill spent five seasons as George's teammate with the Indiana Pacers", they added. This move makes total sense for the Lakers, receiving a highly productive player that can mentor many of their younger stars. Apparently, the veteran Crawford has no plans to play in Atlanta.
