A new rumor has begun circulating claiming that HTC will soon be releasing a new mid-range smartphone. So far, we've already seen three in the new HTC U line up, with the others being the HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play, which were unveiled before the U11 came to life.
Information on HTC's upcoming new device was shared on Twitter by LlabTooFeR. The device has the innovative Edge Sense technology, best-rated camera on any smartphone, and high-end hardware. The codename "Ocean Life" seems to be in keeping with HTC's internal naming convention for the U series.
The phone is reported to feature HTC USonic as well and it runs on the latest Sense 9.0 UI, which is based on Android Nougat. Along with that, HTC isn't skimping in the camera department with 16MP sensors on the front and back. A simple squeeze will allow users to interact with the side panel that allows you to initiate actions like take photos, open Facebook, or launch any of your favourite apps. To recall, the flagship device from HTC, HTC U11 was codenamed Ocean and this one is called Ocean Life.
While some will be disappointed with a battery capacity of just 2,600mAh, the bigger U11 achieves pretty good battery life with just 3,000mAh.
It's unclear when HTC might be planning to launch this device, but if HTC can hold this device to the same standards as the U11, it should prove to be a very solid mid-ranger.
