Storms that form will be slow movers, and some spots will see heavy amounts of rain. This could result in some localized flooding. Temperatures will be in the mid 70s. There will be scattered thunderstorms on both days. Fire weather concerns should relax a bit after the weekend, but no substantial rainfall is in sight. Additional areas of heavy rain are possible Friday. Only a few isolated storms across south Alabama this afternoon, allowing for the heat to ramp up compared to yesterday. This is thanks to the long-forgotten tropical depression four that will only bring more moisture to our area, therefore increasing the rain chances. Showers and storms that started over the high country are staying there with more scattered storms popping over the interstate, including cities like Colorado Springs. These will meander about the Alabama landscape, and since they are driven by daytime heating, they will wind down quickly after the sun sets through the evening hours and most of the rain/storms dissipate completely by 10-11PM each night.
We can expect cooler temperatures for northern Kansas on Thursday with highs in the 80s, Much of central and southern Kansas will still have 90s on Thursday, and we will watch for scattered storms late in the day. Highs will be in the upper 80s.
Next Week: Expect a 40-percent chance for rain Monday afternoon with temperatures in the upper 80s.
Another round of showers and storms is likely Friday before this storm system finally kicks through the area.
