The option to add HBO will be there for any Hulu subscribers, whether they're on the regular on-demand package, or Hulu's new live TV service.
Sound too good to be true? Viewers will now have access to HBO and Cinemax programming under a new deal. Those who don't have a Hulu account can snag 30 days of free streaming by creating an account, and will be charged $7.99 after the trial period ends. Bless your streaming hearts, Hulu. However, the announcement also hints that we'll also see recreations from the King's Road, additional locations in King's Landing, the House of Black and White, and the city of Meereen under the command Daenerys Targaryen and her Unsullied army.
HBO has struck a deal with Hulu that will see its content and services offered as an add-on for the United States streaming service. Adding Cinemax gives you movies like The Purge: Election Year, Warcraft and Deepwater Horizon, along with shows like The Knick, Outcast, Banshee and Quarry.
With the HBO and Cinemax add-ons, subscribers can now watch their favourite premium series, films and specials from each network within Hulu's personalised, flexible user experience.
"We see them as the flawless partner to help us fulfil our promise to HBO fans, bringing our unparalleled programming to audiences in the most sophisticated, convenient and innovative ways".
United States streamer Hulu has struck a deal that provides its subscribers with access to programming from premium cablenet HBO. It's also the same price that Amazon charges users for access to HBO.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hulu will add more HBO channels in coming weeks, including HBO 2, HBO Family, and HBO Latino.
The add-ons are available right now, so have at it.
