This will be followed by a full release for PS4, PS3 and PlayStation Vita owners on Tuesday, August 1. Downwell started life on mobile - and is perhaps best played there - but the PlayStation Vita port is solid, and the game as addictive as ever. If you like action games, Just Cause 3 is definitely the game for you.
For all the heartfelt stories, ethical challenges and complex simulations that video games explore, sometimes you just want to sit down and blow the ever-loving bejesus out of everything in sight.
August is nearly upon us, meaning it's almost time for a new selection of free games from Microsoft and Sony.
Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry is regularly priced at $14.99.
The headlining act, however, must be Avalanche's Just Cause 3: the open-world destruction simulator. This is the standalone spin-off of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag where you play as Adéwalé, a slave-turned-Assassin.
As always, there are six games up for grabs in August through PlayStation Plus. While the rest of the offerings aren't quite as exciting, this month continues the upward trend that we've seen.
In addition to those two games, you'll be able to download party game That's You (PS4), couch co-op casual game Super Motherload (PS3), funky disco sport Snakeball (PS3), intense roguelike Downwell (Vita), and workplace stealth game Level 22 (Vita).
Sony has also released PlayStation Plus Summer Movies for six weeks, featuring six popular titles including Boss Baby, Logan, LEGO Batman Movie, Power Rangers, Kong Skull Island and Ghost Shell.
