One hundred passengers have been stranded above a river due to a cable vehicle accident on a sky-way in Germany.
No injuries have been reported.
Rescue teams in Cologne had practised for an incident on the gondola just a week ago, German media reported.
According to reports all the cars, a popular mode of transport among locals, were brought to a stop when one hit the pillar, leaving passengers waiting helplessly above the German city. In October 2014, a gondola was jolted by a heavy wind, and caused a family to become trapped inside of Cologne's cable vehicle system.
Rescue crews are evacuation as many as 100 people that became trapped in cable cars. "That will always be in our memory", Mr Rieger said. In the wake of the accident, officials noted that the gondolas will be newly inspected in order to make sure that the cable cars are beholden to all safety standards.
Emergency services from Aachen and Dusseldorf assisted fire crews with the rescue.
She said: "They are in the best hands at the Cologne Fire Brigade". This meant that the passengers could be rescued quickly.
