The National Weather Service in Louisville is calling for the possibility of severe weather this afternoon into tonight.
The severe weather focus across the country remains just to our south with severe thunderstorm and even a tornado warning across northern Indiana. A SLIGHT risk means that severe storms are likely. Some of the storms may become severe, with threats for damaging winds and large hail.
Slow-moving thunderstorms could produce one to two inches of rain in isolated areas, causing brief street flooding.
Clouds will clear out Friday night and the humidity will quickly fall.
A chance of showers continues overnight.
Temperatures will head up under mostly sunny skies the first part of next week with a high of 94 degrees on Sunday and 97 on Monday, the weather service says.
Drier and less humid air will return to the Northeast by the end of the weekend, according to AccuWeather.
