If you're needing a pick-me-up in the current news cycle, you'll be happy to know that former president Barack Obama is still as good with kids as ever.

A 6-month old girl in Alaska became an internet celebrity courtesy of former President Obama. And then the man himself apparently walked up and asked, "Who is this pretty girl?"

Jolene Jackinsky told the Associated Press that she was looking for her airline at Anchorage International Airport on Monday when she spotted the erstwhile commander in chief seated in a waiting area for private flights. The photos of Obama and Giselle's interaction blew up on Twitter on early Saturday, with many people on social media calling it ridiculous in the best way possible.

"As I got closer, I thought: Oh my God, it is Obama", she recalled.

Jolene posted the photo of Mr. Obama and Giselle on Facebook, and that's when Jackinsky's photo went viral.

When Jackinsky's father walked in, Obama joked he was taking the baby with him and talked about how fast they grow up, saying he has one going off to college. Mr. Obama spoke with Jolene about children growing up quickly, with former President Obama even picking up baby Giselle while Jackinsky snapped photos of the trio with big smiles.

That led to the below shots of Obama, momma and baby, who looked bright-eyed and ready to pose with a wide-brimmed straw hat.

Obama said he was heading home following a family vacation.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama did not appear in the photos with the baby.

"I think it's unreal and pretty exciting that I get to have a picture with him and my baby", she said.
