Robertson's contract is due to expire next June but, with Jürgen Klopp having to choose between James Milner, a traditional midfielder, and Alberto Moreno - who has recently fallen out of favour with the former Dortmund boss - the German will be keen to bolster his options at left-back.
Liverpool now over have one left-back in the squad which is in the shape of Alberto Moreno, and signing Robertson would provide an alternative or replacement for the Spaniard.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds have been in talks with Hull over the £8m signing of Robertson, and the defender has now reportedly left the club's training camp in Portugal which suggests that a deal could be close between the two clubs. The Scotland global showed that he was capable of playing in the top flight and with Hull's relegation to the Championship, Robertson will surely want to return to the Premier League.
Now, as per an update provided by BBC Radio Humberside morning show presenter David Burns, the 23-year-old defender has left the Tigers' training camp in Portugal.
Elmohamedy has left the camp with a move to Aston Villa supposedly lined up.
Robertson has made 115 appearances for Hull City since joining from Dundee United in a £3m move back in 2014 and has represented Scotland at senior level 15 times, scoring one goal.
According to BBC Humberside journalist David Burns, the Scottish global has been allowed to leave Hull's Portuguese training camp - presumably with the aim of sealing his Liverpool transfer.
