The NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway has been kind of like a two-day marathon, but not in the Rolex 24 Hours way.
This time, Hendrick was the first person to the window of his auto in victory lane.
He used a push from teammate Elliott Sadler to clear the traffic on the restart.
"This is so cool to win at Daytona", Byron said.
Blake Koch will be the leader when the 250-race resumes, followed by Ben Kennedy. "We've had a great last three weeks".
Weather could impact the race yet again, so teams are trying to get to the end of Stage 2, which would make the race official if drivers are unable to make it to the full 100 scheduled laps. The owner of the winning Xfinity Series vehicle was scheduled to start from the pole in Saturday night's main event. Dakota Armstrong finished third, with Jeb Burton in fourth and David Star in fifth.
"I'm not going to nickel-and-dime NASCAR and the rule", Sadler said. Rain just keeps washing out the race, so much so that you get psychologically conditioned to think that every caution is for a damp track.
The race originally started Friday night, but after 11 laps were completed rain forced NASCAR to postpone the race until Saturday.
