UJ was among the top 650 global institutions for 2017/2018, according to the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings.
Unsurprisingly, American and British universities have again feature prominently in the top 10 spots for the recently revealed Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2018.
The 12-year-old institution was the youngest of all ranked universities in South Africa and had moved into fifth position nationally.
"Even though NTU is now the highest-ranked Singapore university, I maintain what I have always said - Singaporeans should be very proud (this) small nation ... has two world-class universities". The university has found its place among the top 62% universities in the QS World University Rankings.
UWA vice-chancellor Professor Dawn Freshwater paid tribute to the hard work of staff, students and researchers.
According to UoH officials, it's the first time the university has been included in the QS world university rankings. Our Focus now is to be sub-600 in the 2019 World Rankings. The International Ranking Expert Group (IREG) has given the approval to QS World University Rankings and is the only and solitary international ranking to have done so.
Dr Bhat added: 'We have also done well in the ranking by subject with our Pharmacy and Medical Colleges finding places in world ranking.
According to six indicators, the universities in QS World University Rankings are ranked and categorized, i.e. faculty/student ratio, research work, academic reputation, global student ratio, worldwide staff ratio, employer reputation.
