A 24-year-old substitute teacher named Loryn Barclay was arrested after she actually admitted that she had oral sex with a 17-year-old multiple times in his vehicle. The student said "he had a sexual relationship with Loryn Barclay and they had sexual intercourse and oral sex on several occasions between November 2016 thru January 2017", according to the probable cause statement used as the basis of the charges against her. The following day, Barclay admitted having 'an inappropriate relationship' with the boy.

Barclay had been hired as a substitute teacher in the fall and promoted to paraprofessional in November.

On Sunday, she was charged with six counts of sexual contact with a student in two counties. She also admitted she had intercourse with the teen at the boy's home in neighboring Barry County.

"When we became aware of potential involvement with a student, we followed all procedures" Monett Superintendent Brad Hanson said.

Jastal said he spoke with Monett High School Principal David Williams, and he advised the district wished to pursue charges. She was removed the day the alleged relationship was reported to police. "We had a conversation with her and she was not employed from then on ..."

Loryn Barclay, 24, allegedly became involved in a relationship with one of her pupils.

To date police have yet to say what led to the female teacher abusing her position of authority, trust and power and subjugating her male victim....

Barclay was booked into Lawrence County jail before being released on a $25,000 bond. A hearing is scheduled for July 24. Furthermore, she is also wanted in Barry County, where a warrant for her arrest has also been issued.
