Spending last season on-loan at the relegated Black Cats, Januzaj registered 25 appearances, but ultimately failed to hit the net - a lacklustre record which is unjust to his usual influence upon proceedings.
Januzaj burst onto the scene when David Moyes was United boss. As Mou continues to reconstruct the Red Devil squad, many fringe players like Januzaj will be on their way out.
MANCHESTER, ENGLAND - AUGUST 18: Adnan Januzaj of Manchester United during the UEFA Champions League Qualifying Round Play Off First Leg match between Manchester United and Club Brugge at Old Trafford on August 18, 2015 in Manchester, England.
Reports earlier this summer suggested that Jose Mourinho, who sent the 22-year-old to Sunderland on loan last summer, would listen to offers for the winger following a poor campaign at the Stadium of Light. Join the Red Devil Armada team!
A deal has not been agreed but it looks likely that the Belgium global is headed for a summer exit. The talent is there, but the application appears not to be, and it's best that Januzaj gets a fresh start somewhere else.
According to The Daily Mail, he has been offered a £70,000-a-week contract by Real Sociedad who have already agreed on a £10m fee with Man Utd, and so it looks as though his time in Manchester has come to an end.
