While President Donald Trump has refused to acknowledge Pride Month, Trudeau has made history celebrating equality.
The prime minister, reports Global News, was casually dressed in a pink shirt and blue blazer and pink shirt, sporting a painted-on rainbow maple leaf in his cheek as he waved to the thousands of people who lined Toronto's most famous street. The Prime Minister even courageous inclement weather, marching for Pride in the rain before it transitioned to sunny skies.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau showed out so wonderfully at Toronto's Pride March today, and he has the whole Internet talking!
Toronto pastor and prominent gay activist Brent Hawkes opened Toronto Pride with his final service, emphasizing the importance of inclusion as the core value of the LGBTQ community. "Trudeau also wished the crowd a happy 'Pride Mubarak, ' a play on words referring to the end-of-Ramadan celebrations happening in the Muslim community Sunday - celebrations Trudeau honoured with a pair of brightly coloured socks".
While taking to the prideful streets on Sunday, Justin Trudeau even got cozy enough with other Toronto Pride attendees to shake hands and take photos, making the event even more memorable for many in attendance.
"Because I probably wear a uniform that represents the group that has done the most damage to the LGBT community - the Christian Church", he said.
Trudeau marched the entire rainbow-colored route after that, waving and smiling along the way.
Trudeau will be joined at the parade by Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, who is openly lesbian, Toronto Mayor John Tory and Assembly of First Nations Chief Perry Bellegarde.
