The document that victor allegedly leaked was a report detailing attempts by hackers from Russian military intelligence to penetrate a company that sells voter registration software as well as local election officials. The Federal Bureau of Investigation had already apprehended victor by the time The Intercept published the report.
Reality Winner, the 25-year-old Vermont Sen.
"I think they're going to try to make an example out of her because of the political climate right now", Winner-Davis said.
Ed Tarver, former U.S. District attorney and Federal prosecutor spoke to NewsChannel 6 about the likelihood of victor being released on bond and the charges she could face if convicted. She also allegedly admitted that she knew the contents of the reporting could be used to the injury of the United States and to the advantage of a foreign nation. She's never run away from anything in her life. She's a good person. She has no record. She is being held in the Lincoln County Jail.
The 25-year-old leaked the top-secret report to The Intercept, who subsequently published the classified material after victor allegedly sent it to the online news outlet by mail.
The FBI says victor was working as a government contractor last month when she copied a classified intelligence report containing top-secret information and mailed it to a reporter.
The obvious question becomes: What was victor, a U.S. Air Force veteran with no criminal convictions, thinking? The U.S. Government Agency determined that six individuals printed this reporting.
Asked if victor had confessed, Nichols said, "If there is a confession, the government has not shown it to me".
Davis said she received a commendation for aiding in the deaths of more than 100 enemy combatants and more than 250 enemy captures.
"I didn't know what company she worked for", Winner-Davis told Cooper. But the NSA has operated a $286 million complex in Augusta since 2012. She was arrested Saturday.
Winner's social media accounts, shared widely online, showed her derision toward Trump, who she at various points called "our Tangerine in Chief", a liar and several expletives.
Armed FBI agents surrounded Reality Winner as she walked into her Georgia home after a trip to the grocery store.
Gary Davis, her stepfather, added that the way victor is being treated now is "disheartening".
