- Two people were reported killed Monday in Anaheim when a vehicle headed northbound on the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway collided with an SUV and burst into flames. The violent collision apparently occurred minutes later and resulted in the wayward auto erupting in flames.
DUARTE The California Highway Patrol closed three lanes of the westbound 210 Freeway due to a big rig catching fire after a collision with another truck Monday. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle in the crash were killed, the CHP said. The driver of the SUV was identified as a man in his 50s, while CHP officials said the wrong-way driver was a man in his 20s.
Only the carpool lane of the freeway is open in the area during the cleanup and investigation, according to the CHP.
