UFC President Dana White is knee deep in negotiations for the potential boxing super fight pitting UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor against Floyd Mayweather.
"I couldn't hit him".
Tyson was less than impressed by Mayweather's ego and criticised the 40-year-old for even suggesting he could be better than Ali.
White made his comments in an interview with TMZ Sports after posting a video on social media that showed De La Hoya bashing a potential Mayweather-McGregor fight spliced with another video, which White says was from four months earlier. After speaking with a collection of ticket brokers, sports marketers and people now and formerly working in the boxing business, ESPN's Darren Rovell predicts that a Mayweather-McGregor fight could bring in nearly as much as the $623.5 million Mayweather's fight against Manny Pacquiao made. Canelo [Alvarez] couldn't hit him. "Floyd will go back to retirement-presumably for good this time with another nine-figure paycheck-and Conor will go back to the UFC". He also believes the UFC could be embarrassed.
Still, Ricky won't hide his fandom for all things UFC and McGregor and is even rooting for the Irishman to put a good beating on "Money".
He finished by saying that Mayweather is a "very small, scared man".
"I am a boxer but I am fan of UFC".
"If what I think will happen in the fight, happens in the fight it could be a bit embarrassing to see that happen to Conor because I love him to bits. I have to take my hat off to Ali, but I didn't give this sport 40 years to say that there's another fighter better than me". If the truth be known, I'd like Conor to splatter him. "My heart says it, but my mind says no, he probably wouldn't [beat him]", Hatton concluded.
