The death toll from the London Bridge terror attack has risen to eight after police searching for a French man missing since Saturday recovered a body from the River Thames. Another 48 people were taken to hospital.
The Australian foreign affairs department on Wednesday confirmed two Australians died in the attack, but did not name them.
They were Kirsty Boden, 28, from Loxton in South Australia who was working in London as a nurse, and Sara Zelenak, 21, of Brisbane who was working in the city as a nanny.
"I feel awful, I can't think", he said.
Echevarria's family say he is definitely among the victims, having been told by Spanish ambassador Carlos Bastarreche, according to The Guardian.
British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson this week insisted the protocols must be followed before identities are made public.
There were even fears of a cover-up in the country because Echeverria's family was told they could only see the body of their relative today - after the general election - but they were ultimately able to see him yesterday morning.
The Spanish Government paid tribute to the bravery of Mr Echeverria, who fought terrorists off with his skateboard: 'With deep sadness and dismay, the government has received confirmation from the British authorities that Ignacio Echeverria is among the fatal victims of the cruel terrorist attacks on London last Saturday'.
A bank worker from Canary Wharf is believed to have been killed in the horrific terrorist attack on London Bridge in which at least seven people died.
They became estranged when Redouane pushed his extreme beliefs on her, but she visited him a few hours before the attacks with their two young children.
Chief Constable Debbie Simpson is the National Police Chiefs' Council lead for United Kingdom disaster victim identification and says accurate information is essential in a mass fatality incident to avoid mistaken identity.
Echevarria's family have provided fingerprints to aid the police, but the authorities want to carry out a formal DNA check before making a final identification.
"A mistaken identity, making assumptions, would cause more trauma to that family or another", Simpson said.
