Today, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to stat at Arsenal...
Arsenal appears to be on the brink of solving one of their tenuous contract headaches by getting Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to reject Liverpool's advances and pen a contract extension rumored to be worth over £100,000 per week, so says Joel Watson of the Daily Star (among other outlets reporting similar news).
Reds' boss Jürgen Klopp has been chasing the 23-year-old midfielder and awaits a decision on whether he wants to make the switch to Anfield following a lengthy contract stand-off with the Gunners.
One of those names is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, an England global who has found it hard to settle in North London following his arrival as a teenager from Southampton- with "the Ox" struggling for fitness and form.
The German coach is expected to be active in the transfer market as he looks to strengthen the Liverpool squad ahead of their return to the Champions League next season and Oxlade-Chamberlain would have been an excellent addition.
However, Englishman Oxlade-Chamberlain has seemingly been convinced that Arsenal remains the best place for him, and Cross suggested Wenger picking him to start in last month's FA Cup final victory over Chelsea was an indication of the Frenchman's determination to keep him.
Following this good season, Arsene Wenger has chose to offer the 23-year-old a new £100,000-a-week contract to keep the player at the Emirates for the foreseeable future.
He took up roles in the central midfield area, played at wing back and also worked from his traditional right wing position.
