Attempting to explain her actions in the press conference, the often sobbing comic claimed to be a victim of "targeting" by the Trump family and said the entire uproar is a "distraction" from Trump's FBI investigation.
"She's the only contestant in the history of the show to actually gain weight", Griffin said.
During her press conference on Friday, Griffin accused the president and his family of ruining her career and her life after she posed with the photo and said the family "picked the wrong redhead". Griffin apologized within hours of the images appearing online on Tuesday.

Said Griffin's criminal attorney Dmitri Gorin of Trump: "He's using the power of the federal government against her".
There's been no public word from Griffin since her May 30 Twitter apology.

"I think it is the job of a comedian to cross the line at all times, because, you know, that line is not real", Carrey told Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Showtime's I'm Dying Up Here. Despite the takedown, Kathy said, "I have to stand up".
She added, "I am teasing the president because this is America". She switched between contriteness to combativeness during the press conference, during which she attempted several nervous jokes that drew laughs mostly from her attorney, Lisa Bloom. She reminded the assembled reporters that her job is to be a comedian, and whether it be the Kardashians or Trump in the news, she was going to comment on them.
On Friday, Griffin said of the backlash, "This wouldn't be happening to a guy".
All of that came to a screeching halt after Griffin's latest controversy with a fake, decapitated head of President Trump. I went way too far.
The Uptown Theatre posted on their Facebook page on Wednesday that they do not endorse or condone statements or actions by any performers, but the business said that it did not have any plans to cancel the show at that time.
