"I encourage you to choose love even when it's hard".
"One Love Manchester" was the most-watched program this year on British television this year as millions of United Kingdom viewers tuned into the benefit gig, which was held to raise money for the victims of the terror attack at Ariana Grande's May 22 concert.
Other stars included Pharrell Williams, One Direction's Niall Horan, Justin Bieber, Little Mix and Imogen Heap, while Katy Perry performed her hit Roar, saying: "We will not be silenced, Manchester".
Those who were at Grande's May 22 concert when the suicide bombing took place were offered free tickets; the remainder went on sale for $52.
Music stars from around the world have joined Ariana Grande for the One Love Manchester benefit concert for the victims of the Manchester Arena attack earlier this month, which took the lives of 22 people.
Proceeds from last night's concert go to British Red Cross's Manchester Emergency Fund, and it's estimated to have made £2 million for the families of the victims of the attack.
"I expect her to stay, visit, and comfort her wounded fans & relatives of those who died", he said in a tweet. A teary eyed Robbie Williams, Ariana herself chose to have boyfriend Mac Miller performed a duet, but it was Justin Bieber's emotional speech and break down that has our attention. During the performance, Grande talked about one of her fans who was murdered in the terror attack, 15-year-old Olivia Campbell-Hardy.
Consolidated figures for One Love Manchester have not yet been revealed.
Referencing the London attack, Scooter Braun, Grande's manager, told the audience, "Last night this nation was challenged, and all of you were challenged, and you had a decision to make if you were going to come out here tonight".
And Justin Bieber sang Cold Water... "Let no one take that away from you".
Cyrus followed the collaboration with one of her own tracks, "Inspired", from her forthcoming album, while the Bangerz star later performed a cover of Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over" with Ariana Grande.
Towards the end, Grande got emotional as she sang a heartbreaking version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to close out her benefit gig.
