Two Trumbull County men are accused of stealing a military vehicle from a Ohio National Guard Armory.
Authorities said a fence was cut and the Humvee was stolen from the armory in Stow, about 35 miles (56 kilometers) southeast of Cleveland in March.
According to the indictment, Bollinger and Thompson concealed the vehicle from March 19 to 24 with the intent to convert the vehicle for Bollinger's own use.
The Humvee was discovered six days later after police searched a garage at a private residence on State Line Road in Brookfield.
Authorities said Bollinger meant to convert the Humvee for his own use. Theft of government property is a federal offense, and receiving stolen government property is also considered a felony if the property in question is valued at more than $950. This earned them each one count of theft of government property and receiving stolen government property, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office at the Department of Justice. The Humvee was locked, but the culprit or culprits broke into it and drove away, the Highway Patrol said.
