LUIS SUAREZ'S season is over and he will miss the Copa del Rey final after picking up a thigh injury.

The Uruguay star has pulled a muscle in his right leg and will consequently be out of action for the next two weeks, meaning he is set to miss the worldwide friendlies against Ireland and Italy.

The Uruguayan suffered the injury on Thursday during training and initial assessments reveal it is nothing too serious. Uruguay will play Ireland on June 4 in Dublin and Italy three days later in Nice, France.

The Copa del Rey final will be Luis Enrique's final match in charge of the club, and gives them a chance of lifting the trophy for a third season in a row.

Suarez, who joined Barcelona from Liverpool in 2014, has scored 37 goals in 51 games in all competitions this season and finished second to Lionel Messi in La Liga's top scorer charts.
