As suspenseful as it can get, the announcement of Class 12 board exam results can also be a defining and joyous moment for students who score well.
Cancer couldn't deter his spirit and stop him from passing the 90 per cent mark in the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12th board examinations 2017, the result of which was declared yesterday.
Tushar's life changed when he was about to appear for his class 10 board exams.
I am in a much better condition now after all the treatments.
Tushar says he has to visit AIIMS in every three to four months for check-ups and updates on his health.
Tusshar Rishi who studied in Delhi Public School in Ranchi scored 95 in English, 95 in Physics, 93 in Mathematics, 89 in Computer and a ideal 100 in Fine Arts this year.
The story of his school life has been anything but conventional. However, he achieved this feat while battling bone cancer. Tushar has been battling with bone cancer since 2014 and he just scored 95% in his CBSE Board Exams. I was under chemotherapy for around 11 months. But the following year, the 19-year-old student of Delhi Public School, Ranchi, appeared for his Class 10th board exams and scored a CGPA of 10.
Despite being a cancer patient, he stayed focussed on his studies and continued to excell in his academics.
Tushar has had the full support from his parents in this journey.
Tushar is even reported to have written a book, The Patient Patient, which documents the story of his struggle as a young cancer survivor.
Tushar's father Shashi Bhushan Agarwal works in the state Agriculture department. I am more than happy with his performance. His mother Ritu Agarwal talking about her son's battle with cancer said that she has seen him struggle and she hopes he remains healthy and achieves all his career goals. Tushar wants to break stereotypes by going for Literature or Economics at the University of Delhi rather than taking up Engineering.
In order to cope with his condition, Rishi is now following a strict diet and an appropriate line of treatment. While they inspire us, teach us everything about persistence, they also make us feel thankful for the life we have.
