"The strikes are manifestly a sign of impatience by Turkey and part of a long line of appeals telling the USA to stop supporting the YPG", said Jean Marcou, professor at Sciences Po Grenoble and associate researcher at the French Institute of ANatolian Studies. Turkish warplanes carried out air strikes against Kurdish militants in northeastern Syria and Iraq's Sinjar region on Tuesday in an unprecedented bombardment of groups linked to the PKK, which is fighting an insurgency against Ankara in Turkey's southeast. Local residents attested that intermediaries from Raqqa and Aleppo arrived to pick up the oil and often mentioned Turkey, while a captured ISIS recruit admitted on camera that the terrorist group sells oil to Turkey.

"We are seriously concerned to see USA flags in a convoy that has YPG rags on it".

Turkey's president was unimpressed by the images.

Al Jazeera's Hashem Ahelbarra, reporting from Gaziantep along the Turkey-Syria border, said United States troops have patrolled the area in what appears to be an attempt to de-escalate the situation between the Turkish military and YPG.

The strike in Syria reportedly hit the area, where YPG headquarters are located, killing almost 30 YPG fighters and officials.

Speaking at a business conference in Istanbul, Erdogan reiterated he would try to convince Donald Trump next month that Turkish-backed forces should be used to retake the Syrian city of Raqqa from Islamic State rather than Kurdish militia who Ankara views a terrorist threat.

In Istanbul, Erdogan insisted that USA support for such groups 'must come to an end, ' and said he would bring up the matter at a meeting with President Donald Trump next month. The fighter alleges that Turkey's president Recep Erdogan wants ISIS to control Syria in order to grow the oil trade. "You can not play with this nation", Erdogan said. Before the event, Mr. Trump signed two more executive orders on trade, as he continued to follow through on his tough talk from before and after the election, vowing to do more to protect U.S.jobs at home from what he says are unfair practices by Canada, Mexico, and other nations.

Turkey's Western allies have expressed solidarity with the government over the coup attempt but have also voiced increasing alarm at the scale and swiftness of the response, urging it to adhere to democratic values.

Erdogan reaffirmed that Turkey could again bomb YPG positions any time it wanted.

"We may come overnight, all of a sudden", Erdogan reiterated. I really meant that.

Turkish officials announced the conclusion of Euphrates Shield in March but have said they would continue combatting terror to make its borders safe, pointing to both the Islamic State group and Kurdish militants. This is the second time this year that USA troops have moved in to block an anticipated Turkish attack on Kurds, who are spearheading the fight against the Islamic State. There were no reports of casualties on the Turkish side. The base is 50km from Syria's Tal Abyad, a town controlled by YPG.

Turkey and the United States can join forces to turn the Islamic State jihadist group's de-facto capital of Raqa in Syria into a "graveyard" for the extremists, the Turkish president said on Saturday. Ankara sees the group as a terror organization.

"We have forces in the entirety of northern Syria, the border is among the area where they operate", said Navy Capt. Jeff Davis, a Pentagon spokesman.

"We hope that this military mobilisation is not meant to provoke our forces or for another objective linked to entering Syrian territories".
