During the president's recent visit, the USA and Saudi Arabia sealed deals of between $280 billion and $380 billion, including an arms deal, which is valued at $110 billion.
US President Donald Trump said today during a visit to Jerusalem that Iran must never be allowed to have nuclear weapons while also denouncing Tehran's support for "terrorists".
"It may sound politically controversial to say this, but the previous president, Barack Obama, tried to bring Israeils and Arabs closer together through peace".
Meanwhile, Tillerson also said Monday that Trump's views on Islam "continue to evolve".
Iran is giving President Donald Trump a reason to feel optimistic about Middle East peace. Turning to the prime minister, who joined him for the speech, Trump said, "Benjamin Netanyahu wants peace".
Netanyahu said Israel was unconcerned about the incident, calling US-Israeli intelligence cooperation "terrific". "So, this is a unique moment for Israel and I think that President Trump is taking advantage of this moment and emphasizing its uniqueness by traveling first to Saudi Arabia and then to Israel".
Trump has vowed to do whatever is necessary to broker peace between Israel and the Palestinians, but has given little sign of how he could revive long-stalled negotiations.
Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, who also greeted Trump, shared the sentiment, saying that the Israeli people have "great expectations" for the visit, which he called "a symbol of the unbreakable bond between Israel and America". The next day, he is set to meet with Abbas in the West Bank and deliver a speech at the Israeli Museum.
U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Monday that the Western Wall is "in Jerusalem", but refused to respond to a question on whether it was in Israel.
Despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's best attempts to stop it (you can see his hand in shot), Hazan promptly posted his brush with the USA commander in chief on Twitter for his 16,400 followers. Whether U.S. policy will change as a result of Rouhani's reelection remains to be seen.
Trump's visit was laden with religious symbolism.
Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross praised the lack of protesters during President Trump's trip to Saudi Arabia, apparently unaware that Saudi protesters may be jailed or killed by their government. Wearing a black skull cap, he became the first sitting president to visit the Western Wall in Jerusalem's Old City, the most holy site at which Jews can pray.
President Trump landed in Tel Aviv, Israel, on May 22, as part of his first global trip as president. The demonstrations are meant to draw attention to a month-long hunger strike by hundreds of prisoners being held by Israel and to protest what many Palestinians say is unfair US support for Israel.
