HTC has presented its new flagship smartphone, the HTC U11.
As such the newly announced smartphone comes with the Edge sensor feature which is the key highlight of this smartphone. For example, you can set a short squeeze to open the camera and then take a picture when the camera app is open. There are four microphones that assist with this function, and the phone can be set to wake up to "Alexa" or "Ok Google" at the same time.
This idea may sound a little odd but Express.co.uk has traveled to HTC's launch event in Taiwan to give it a test. HTC says that the level of force can also be adjusted.
HTC's own Sense Companion assistant - which uses artificial intelligence to "learn" user habits and suggest content based on that - is also built into the phone.
When you are told that HTC is launching a mobile, it completely different than any other smartphone.
Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates! At the start of 2017, they released the HTC U Ultra, the first flagship phone for the year and now, they are back with another flagship phone the, HTC U11. Thus it comes with liquid surface and metal unibody design.
In a since-deleted video (mirrored below via Reddit), we see a hands-on with the upcoming device, presumably at a press briefing overseas. The U11 will feature in four colors in a chrome finish: fantastic silver, sapphire blue, ice black and solar red.
Brilliant Black is going to be available
For the important specifics, the device sports a 5.5-inch screen with a Quad HD SuperLCD 5 display. The device is powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 coupled with a 4GB of RAM. However, other details were not revealed.
As for specifications, the HTC U11 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with the company's HTC Sense skin on topĀ and supports dual-SIM cards (Nano-SIM).
HTC U11 will be available in a number of markets as from next week, but global availability will begin in June. Well, the HTC U11 is the flagship in question and it has now been confirmed.
A 12-megapixel UltraPixel 3 rear camera and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera might also include on the HTC U11. Front camera features include live make-up, auto selfie, voice selfie, HDR Boost, and Selfie Panorama.
The cameras are also capable of recording 4K videos, comes with 360 sound recording and delivers high-resolution audio.
One of the interesting new inclusions from the company in the HTC U11 is the pressure-sensitive or squeezable frame of the device that is meant to perform certain actions upon putting some pressure. It seems like a really innovative way to interact with a smartphone. A USB-C to audio jack adaptor to enable listening with regular wired headphones is also bundled in the box. Once the device is launched, the availability and the pricing of the device will be known.
