― Reuters picLONDON, May 16 ― Departing captain John Terry led his Chelsea champions to a rip-roaring 4-3 victory over Watford yesterday, scoring the first goal on an evening of celebration, fireworks and streamers rather than vintage football at Stamford Bridge.
"At this moment I have 13 or 14 players and they deserve to play the FA Cup, and many players in good form".
"(Arjen) Robben and (Didier) Drogba in particular and ably supported by Damien Duff, who I thought was a fantastic player as well. The manager has shown great confidence in me.
Clement revealed last month he would explore the possibility of signing the 36-year-old if his side secured Premier League safety, which they have now done after Hull City's relegation.
"Mixed emotions", said Terry.
John Terry has not ruled out retiring from football after Chelsea's final Premier League game of the season on Sunday.
The experienced defender was handed a rare start as Antonio Conte made nine changes compared to the team that clinched the Premier League title against West Brom on Friday and he enjoyed an eventful first half. Conte added: "This is the right final for John".
"He has been brilliant with me", he said.
"Of course there were frustrations because I didn't play a lot".
"Tottenham last season fought to win the title and Chelsea finished 10th".
Nevertheless, Terry has now fuelled speculation he could end his career altogether once his time at Chelsea comes to an end. "That will serve me well, just for me, to take the experience and kind of see how things will happen in the future".
"I was sitting there hoping the boys did well and kept winning".
We have the possibility to win 30 games.
"We are talking about players who wrote the history of this club".
"This opportunity keeps our concentration, keeps our focus very high".
In the true competitive nature of the Blues legend, Terry stated his desire to lift the FA Cup for the fifth time. Fans can watch the parade for free on Chelsea TV, or track the progress of the busses live on the club's official Facebook channel.
And Okaka looked to have spoiled the party as he fired a low shot past Asmir Begovic in the 74th minute just moments after coming off the bench.
