On Saturday, the former USA president was in London, where he visited Kensington Palace and met with Prince Harry.
"They discussed support for veterans, mental health, conservation, empowering young people and the work of their respective founders", the statement continues.
The meeting followed a visit to Scotland by Mr Obama on Friday, where he enjoyed a game of golf in St Andrews before attending a private charity dinner in Edinburgh.
Prince Harry, 32, welcomed former President Barack Obama, 55, at Kensington Palace in London on May 27 during Obama's special stop in the UK.
Later, former Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted a picture of himself and Mr Obama, saying it was "great to catch up with my good friend".
Kensington Palace tweeted a photo of the smiling men wearing identical navy wool suits and starched white dress shirts sans neckties.
It is not known whether Harry's American girlfriend Meghan Markle was also home at the time.
Media reports on their relationship are rife with speculation they could be announcing their engagement later this year.
