The National Investigation Agency (NIA) believes they have strong evidence against separatist leaders Farooq Ahmad Dar, Javed Baba and Naeem Khan over their alleged role in terror funding in the volatile state of Jammu and Kashmir through. Earlier this month, NIA had questioned them in Delhi for four consecutive days.
The NIA has also collected details of 13 accused charge- sheeted so far in the Valley in recent cases related to causing damage to schools and public property as part of a "larger conspiracy to perpetuate chaos" in Kashmir.
"We have summoned the two to appear before the National Investigation Agency officials at our Delhi headquarters at 10.30 a.m. on Monday", an NIA official told IANS requesting anonymity.
The development came after the Hurriyat Conference suspended Nayeem Khan from the organisation after he allegedly confessed to receiving money from Pakistan and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) for Kashmir unrest.
The NIA had summoned Nayeem Khan, Ghazi Javed Baba and Farooq Ahmed Dar aka Bitta Karate for questioning in connection with alleged funding from Pakistan, official sources said.
The channel aired the sting video on May 16 in which Khan admitted that money from Pakistan-based organisations was routed through hawala.
Kashmir was rocked by violent street protests after a Hizbul Mujahideen militant, Burhan Wani, was killed in a gunfight with security forces on July 8.
The NIA has initiated a preliminary inquiry against separatist leaders, including Syed Ali Shah Geelani, for allegedly receiving funds from Hafiz Saeed to carry out subversive activities in the Kashmir Valley, including throwing stones at security forces, damaging public property and burning schools and other government establishments.
