The Lenovo-owned company is keeping mum on upcoming device from Moto X series but its details have slowly started surfacing, hinting that its release date may not be far off.
Although Motorola appears to refer to the new Moto X as a "flagship device" in the leaked video, the Snapdragon 660 CPU would suggest that the phone will more readily compete with midrange devices that powerhouses such as the iPhone 8, Galaxy S8 and possibly even the OnePlus 5. Anyhow, a 9-second video during the presentation reveals a lot about the smartphone. This isn't the first we've heard of the return of the Moto X brand, but until we see more, we're going to remain skeptical. Additionally, we also have references of the Moto Z2 Play, and now we have in our hand information that supposedly comes from a private presentation, in China, about the new Moto X 2017. There's also something called "AI integration", because Motorola simply couldn't miss out on using the latest buzzword in the mobile space.
The caption on the video presentation, seen in the background, shows that the price for the Moto X 2017 will be reasonable, with the exact words being: "The perfection and appeal of a flagship device at a friendly price". There will be 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage space under-the-hood. There will be a presence of the IP689 rating for water resistance and dust resistance. It isn't located on the back, at least, that's confirmed. Company's logo will be in the center.
The front facing camera will be 5MP. But new Android O is launched there is small chance to run with this OS.
