Yesterday afternoon New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey addressed the media following his 3-day suspension without pay for failing to show up to the ballpark last Saturday.
New York Mets starting pitcher Matt Harvey was reportedly shaken after seeing photos of supermodel Adriana Lima attending a Met Gala afterparty with New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman last week. "We've got to know one thing about our society: if you make a mistake, stand up, be accountable and move on".
Mets manager Terry Collins spoke to reporters after Harvey.
Since Harvey's ill-fated no-show, there has been a report that he partied until 4 a.m. on Friday night/Saturday morning, as well as a report that the Mets sent security officials to check on him at his home at 10 p.m. on Saturday.
Collins said he expects Harvey's agent, Scott Boras, to challenge the discipline. A few weeks later, Harvey, who has a reputation for dating supermodels, was photographed locking lips with Lima at a restaurant in Miami.
1B Lucas Duda (left elbow) played in his second straight rehab game for Class A St. Lucie on Monday night, when he went 1-for-2 with a walk while playing five innings at first base. "But they respect each other and that's all I want".
"He admitted that, " Collins said. I know it's dramatic, but I think any team in baseball would have probably reacted very similarly.
"A lot of the young guys will look for body language, look for signs from guys", Walker said. "It's about our guys relaxing and having some fun". NY called up journeyman Adam Wilk from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill in on short notice and little-to-no sleep.
Harvey threw a bullpen before Wednesday's 6-5 loss to San Francisco in the series finale in Flushing.
The New York rumor mill just can't quite slow down enough for the Mets to jump off the ride. He made several stops en route to NY and took an overnight flight, arriving at Citi Field straight from the airport around 8:45 a.m. "They're professionals on that side of it", Collins said.
'We will welcome Matt back when he gets back and continue moving forward'.
Milone has not pitched since his last relief appearance April 29 and has not started since April 19. Syndergaard initially missed a start with what the Mets said was biceps and shoulder discomfort and then made his next start against Washington after refusing to undergo an MRI. "You savor. You never let go".
