Three days before he detonated a bomb that killed 22 people at a Manchester concert venue, police believe Abedi withdrew 250 pounds ($324) from an ATM before he went shopping in the center around 1900 GMT (3.00 p.m. ET) in the evening, the broadcaster said. A suicide bomber is believed to be behind the attack.
Police said on Thursday they had made significant arrests and uncovered important items as they investigate the Manchester suicide bombing.
The nation will fall silent this morning to remember the victims of the terror attack in Manchester earlier this week.
Abedi's 23-year-old brother Ismail was arrested in Manchester on Tuesday.
"As it stands, six men and one woman have been arrested in conjunction with the investigation and remain in custody for questioning", the police added.
With Britain's terrorism threat level at "critical", meaning a new attack may be imminent, police are working around the clock to try to deter another atrocity.
The first arrest made in Britain on Tuesday was reported by British and USA media to be Abedi's older brother.
"The British police have been very clear that they want to control the flow of information in order to protect operational integrity, the element of surprise, so it is irritating if it gets released from other sources, and I have been very clear with our friends that should not happen again", she said.
Prime Minister Theresa May has warned of another attack.
Greater Manchester Police released a statement condemning the leaks on behalf of the National Counter-Terrorism Policing units that suggested a severe rupture in trust between Britain and the United States, who have traditionally shared intelligence at the highest levels.
