A shooting at a Deerfield Beach nightclub led to a deputy and a shooter exchanging gunfire early Monday, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The BSO Public Information Office is now working a developing incident regarding a deputy-involved shooting located at: 4200 block of North Dixie Highway, Deerfield Beach. He was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out.

Deputies later found a man who had been shot at the Tropicante.

The shootout happened after the deputy, on patrol around 3 a.m., heard shots in the area. It's unknown if any of the suspects were injured.
