"To her, everyone is equal". "That combined with being unbelievable in the scene was just as important to us, and I think that's who she is as a person".
As the last DC Extended Universe movie to hit theaters before Justice League, you'd think Wonder Woman might have some superhero crossover to help set up the upcoming blockbuster.
It's also a watershed moment in the genre.
Jenkins went on to explain that as a child, she would be inspired by the idea of stopping a school bully while also being able to look like Lynda Carter.
In an interview with IGN, Jensen only has the glowing words for Jenkins. "That's what I'm aiming for". In fact, the training to become Wonder Woman was more intensive than being in the army.
So if Gadot finds the the superstardom she seems headed for, Israel will have a new most famous face.
"She is just an incredibly good Wonder Woman in that she naturally exudes all of the strength of character and kindness, warmth and charm come so naturally to her. All in such a sweet way". I think it comes from inside. That doesn't always happen with superheroes.
This is the biggest and perhaps the most important role to date for the actress who was previously best known for playing Gisele in three installments of The Fast And The Furious franchise (Gadot beat out many other well-known contenders to play Wonder Woman).
When Wonder Woman first appeared as somewhat of a cameo on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, I was a bit underwhelmed.
"Growing up, I had Superman and Batman to look up to. There's something about the earnestness and the grandiosity of that approach that I don't feel is something I've been seeing recently". "Wonderful (see what I did there?) to be with the lovely @gal_gadot at the World Premiere of Wonder Woman!" she wrote, alongside a pic of the superhero duo.
Beyond the numbers, "Wonder Woman" must also bear the weight of the feminist anticipation that has been building steadily around the film for years. "I'm happy that we got to explore it". Though the new film is bookended by scenes taking place in modern day, after the events of Dawn of Justice, a majority of Wonder Woman takes place in the early 20th century, long before this version of baby Kal-El crash landed on Earth.
So far the DCEU has selected a diverse roster of directors for its films. "Wonder Woman is about telling the truth".
Oh my God, everything. "We wanted to do her story that kind of justice so every day felt like we had that monkey on our back". She had a very clear vision of who the Wonder Woman was that she wanted to see. "This is fantasy and it's not for anyone other than the person having the fantasy". She knows how to create intimacy with the actors she is working with and she trusts them. "And that we can all live together, in co-existence and peace".
What was it like joining the DC movie machine? With high-profile studio pictures, perhaps even more so. Hopefully more and more people begin to understand that. "People take issue with it, but I'd rather have that than play games". If they have a problem with a female who is strong, they're missing the entire point; it's the ultimate sexism to say because she has big breasts and a costume on, that is what you think represents her and who she is. But I think what Chris said is very true. "It's the most incredible character".
Talking to CinemaBlend, the Israeli beauty revealed that fans will see different facets of the superhero in Wonder Woman and Justice League.
[Laughs] I can't share much, but we had a lot of fun shooting it.
