According to Fallon, McCourty's deal with the Browns is expected to be for two-years and total out at $6 million.
McCourty, entering his ninth season, played 108 games with the Tennessee Titans, 90 of them starts, since being drafted in the sixth round in 2009.
Gonzalez is the fourth draft pick signed by the Browns.
McCourty was impressed with the Browns during his visit and said he likes "what is brewing within this organization in Cleveland". McCourty also played under Browns defensive coordinator Gregg Williams in 2013, so that experience is surely something that's considered valuable as other players learn a completely new defensive scheme.
The Titans cut McCourty last month after the 2 sides couldn't agree on a restructured contract since he was originally scheduled to make $7 million in 2017.
McCourty told Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot Wednesday that he is open to playing safety for the team, though he will start off at cornerback. Keep in mind, the corner was a three-time team captain during his time with the Titans. Briean Boddy-Calhoun (71st) and Joe Haden (85th) filled out the rest of the top 100.
In 2015, McCourty missed 12 of 16 games because of groin injuries and two surgeries.
As to Williams, he's definitely "crazy" - as the Saints bounty scandal and the cartoonish comments caught on tape during a pregame meeting before a playoff game with the 49ers previously established.
A sixth-round pick out of Rutgers in 2009, McCourty has racked up 505 tackles, 73 passes defensed and 13 interceptions in eight National Football League seasons. Jason's twin brother, Devin, successfully made the switch with the New England Patriots.
