The so-called luxury festival, hosted by rapper Ja Rule and Billy McFarland, was supposed to be a two-weekend long music event in the Bahamas; tickets ran about $12,000 and scheduled performers included Blink-182, Desiigner, Pusha T and Tyga. "I hope everyone is safe and back with their families and loves ones.xo", she said.

She said she feels "so sorry and badly because this is something I couldn't stand by", but insists "if I would have known about the outcome, you would have all known too".

Hadid sounds a lot like rapper Ja Rule, who was one of the organizers for the event. According to E! News, Hadid didn't actually attend the festival.

Considering the recent controversy surrounding her Pepsi commercial though, we can understand why she wants the chatter about Fyre Festival to die a quick death.

Organisers had relied on models and other minor celebrities to heavily promote the festival as a glitzy destination event.

Dozens of festival-goers waited hours for their flight from Miami to the island and reported being locked in the airport for their safety with no food, the Independent reports. "The event organizers assured us that all measures were taken to ensure a safe and successful event but clearly they did not have the capacity to execute an event of this scale", the statement reads.

A Twitter outrage broke out over the weekend with attendees sharing evidence of the disaster at the festival grounds.

"Also, all guests from this year will have free VIP passes to next year's festival", said a statement on its website. We will donate $1.50 [per ticket] to the Bahamian Red Cross. Photos of the impossibly blue water and the sugary sandy beach looked incredible. It'll be not just music, but all forms of entertainment.

Still and all, it's not quite as good as Ja Rule's apology note on Twitter, peppered as it is with capital letters and poetic phrases like "I don't know how everything went so left but I'm working to make it right".

"While officials don't offer specifics, the festival has distanced itself somewhat from an egregiously inferior product from the one previously promised: 'Due to circumstances out of our control, the physical infrastructure was not in place on time and we are unable to fulfill on that vision safely and enjoyably for our guests'".
