Kingston was last seen about 1:15 a.m CST, Thursday morning in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store in Jackson, Miss.
"She feels guilty for the fact that she made a decision to go inside the store and leave the auto running when she went inside the store", David Archie, Ebony Archie's uncle, told WLBT.
Unfortunately, at 9:30 a.m., officials found Kingston dead with a gunshot to the back of his head. After Archie returned and told the deputy that her vehicle was missing, authorities began an auto-theft investigation, he said. She approached the deputy and said her vehicle was missing but did not initially report that her son was inside, Mason said.
Once the Mississippi Highway Patrol and Jackson Police Department were notified of the missing child, an AMBER Alert was released.
Screams and cries can be heard in the background as Kingston's dad shouts: "They killed my son, they killed him, they shot him, they shot him". The Department of Public Safety sent the Amber Alert at 4:30 a.m.

The men from MS were arrested hours after the child's body was found and will be charged with capital murder, which makes them eligible for the death penalty.
Madison County District Attorney Michael Guest announced at a news conference on Thursday [Friday NZ Time] that authorities planned to charge Byron McBride, D'Allen Washington and Dwan Wakefield over the death of the child.
WLBT uncovered a picture that was tweeted to Washington from the other man believed to be involved in this heinous crime spree, Dwan Wakefield.
"It's not true", Mississippi Bureau of Investigation spokesman Warren Strain said of the internet rumors. Martin Archie carries a grief-stricken Ebony Archie, mother to Kingston Frazier, down a case of stairs after learning her young son was found dead after being kidnapped during the theft of his mother's vehicle.
"It's hard to know that people out there are evil, that would kill a child", Velma Eddington, the boy's great-aunt, told the newspaper. "To me, it's hatred".
Friday a memorial for Kingston Frazier continued to grow in Gluckstadt at the site where he was found slain.
Kingston's cousin Kolby Irby told reporters: "A six-year-old is gone". It is important that we express and assure, that as a City, there is no tolerance on any level for acts of violence against children.
