Carlson was shifted into the 8 p.m. time slot vacated by the 67-year-old O’Reilly, who agreed to leave last week amid allegations of sexual and racial harassment from women at the network. On April 9, Fox announced that it would launch an investigation into at least one of the claims against O’Reilly.
The data follows Morning Consult polling released last week, which showed an uptick in support for pulling the plug on O’Reilly’s show, just before the network confirmed the popular talk show host would not return.
With star O’Reilly off the network following advertisers fleeing his show over revelations that the network paid out over $13 million in sexual harassment settlements, Fox has had to reshuffle their nightly line-up.
O’Reilly, who just returned from an Italian vacation during which he visited the Vatican and shook hands with Pope Francis, added: “Now, I can’t say anymore because I just don’t want to influence the flow of the information”. O’Reilly said. “I don’t want the media to take what I say and misconstrue it”.
His show Tucker Carlson Tonight drew in a total of 3.2 million viewers, easily doubling the ratings of competitors Anderson Cooper at CNN and Chris Hayes at MSNBC. Fox fired O’Reilly last week.
Starting Monday (today), O’Reilly will have a podcast which will have the same conservative rhetoric as his former Fox News show, “The O’Reilly Factor“.

Walsh said she was able to discuss her claim because she was not bound by a confidentiality agreement, as many women reportedly are, the AP reported.
Carlson kicked off his Monday night broadcast – which featured interviews with Caitlyn Jenner and former Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe – with a message addressing O’Reilly’s departure.
