Bella Hadid Feels ‘So Sorry and Badly’ About Promoting Disastrous Fyre Festival

Festival cofounders Billy McFarland and Ja Rule “simply weren’t ready for what happened next, or how big this thing would get”, the statement continued. She also admitted she “agreed to do one promotion…not knowing the disaster that was to come”.

Organizers of the Fyre Festival have apologized after the event that was promised to be a “cultural moment” didn’t go the way they expected.

Organizers of the Fyre Festival said another event would take place in 2018 on a beach venue in the United States.

Now Ja Rule has broken his silence about the failed festival in an apologetic note posted to Twitter. “We were overwhelmed and just didn’t have the foresight to solve all these problems”, he said.

Hadid was among a group of models, including Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Baldwin and Chanel Iman, who took part in a photo shoot to promote the festival a year ago (16), and posted dozens of snaps on social media to tease the festival, but these have since been deleted.

Scheduled headliners Blink-182 canceled their appearance late Thursday, and other performers, including Pusha-T, Migos, Disclosure, and Major Lazer, are sure to follow.

McFarland went on to say “the refunds are being processed” for all guests and announced the make-up dates will be “May 2018 in the USA, free for everybody who signed up for this festival”.

We reported Friday night on Fyre Festival, a supposed luxury music festival in the Bahamas, with tickets costing up to $12,000 that turned into a disaster as reports of no security, canceled flights, and soggy tents came about.

Later in the day, Ja Rule’s business partner, entrepreneur Billy McFarland released a long statement to Rolling Stone detailing what exactly went wrong. The Fyre Festival on the Great Exumas island in Bahamas appeared to be one of the events of the year as it was promoted on social media.

In a subsequent statement, Fyre Festival blamed the disastrous outcome on “circumstances out of our control”. Festival-goers shared images on social media of their disappointing meals – cheese splayed on bread with a small salad for dinner – and their accommodations, which were little more than relief tents and mattresses. “I truly apology as this is NOT MY FAULT, but I’m taking responsibility”.
